Matt has always taken inspiration from music. Producing since 1998, the days of hardware synthesizers and sequencers where every beat and bass line had to be programmed, he has a solid understanding of what makes a track great on the dance floor, whatever the genre.
In 2010, after a series of gigs at the Albany Deptford warming up for acts such as Tiny Tempah, Pendulum and The Quemists Matt Sargent and co-promoter Tristan Scutt decided to start the Deptford Army club night. Harking back to early days of dance music where different styles mixed. At the time this was unusual, as almost all dance club nights featured only one genre of music. The alias "DEX LUTHA" was created to headline the night; playing hard, but broader appeal Drum and Bass. |

Previously producing alone, the past four years have seen Matt gain a huge passion for collaboration with other producers, musicians and vocalists. Ignited by a shared passion for music with Charles Smith, the duo embarked on an eclectic journey of music production. The strongest themes emerged in Hip-Hop and Drumstep instrumental, leading to the recent formation of DirtyEarth.biz.

At the same time Matt started producing with Leon Rhymes (Too Many Ts). The pair are currently working on an EP. Recently Matt has also featured on the Too Many Ts - Running Wild EP with Standaloft, Rhymes and HypeMan Sage.
